Earlier in the year you may recall that I took my Mum and Grandma, aka Dors, on a family trip to Singapore. We absolutely loved it and best of all Singapore offers something for everyone in the family.
For my first Singapore round-up post, I shared my Mum’s top 5 picks from an grown-up’s perspective. This time I’m going to share my favourite places to visit and things to do in Singapore.
Singapore is such a colourful and exciting place, there is always something new to look at or taste or experience. Even though your parent’s may talk about how much they love Singapore, don’t be fooled, it’s not just for the adults – I guarantee you’ll have an AMAZING time as well!
Pixie’s Top 5 in Singapore
The Merlion statue was one of my favourite attractions in Singapore! Half lion, half fish this amazing water fountain is a must visit, especially for the great photo opportunities. Not only is the Merlion fun and exciting to look at, it’s location provides amazing views over Mariana Bay.
2. Henna Tatoo and Little India
A visit to Little India is a must! It’s full of bright colours, decorations, exotic market stalls, temples and mosques – the whole neighbourhood is an experience in itself! My favourite thing to do in Little India was to get a henna tattoo – the perfect temporary option for a glamorous hand decoration. I loved it!
3. Kampong Glam
It was inevitable that this neighbourhood ended up on my list of must visit places in Singapore, after all is has ‘glam’ in the title! Kampong Glam really is glamorous and is full of unique boutiques including hand-made perfume stores for a one-off scent to remember your holiday by. I loved looking at all the trinkets and delights to be found in Kampong Glam, and I’m pretty sure Mum did too!
4. Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden
If you’re looking for a green space to stretch your legs then this is it! It’s no secret I’ve inherited a green thumb from my Mum who loves a spot of gardening. So imagine my delight when I discovered Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden! This incredible garden has been designed especially for us little ones to explore, learn and even get our hands dirty with interactive displays. There is also a great range of jungle gyms and play equipment.
5. Selfie Coffee at Haji Lane
I’m never one to shy away from the camera, so when looking for a great cool-down beverage in Singapore, Selfie Coffee was the place to go! After all, what could be more perfect that a drink with your selfie on it?! Selfie Coffee is an amazing café that prints your selfie on the spot and puts it on your coffee. I found this so much fun and got a real kick out of seeing my picture on my Chocolate Frappe. Best of all, who doesn’t want an ice cold drink after a long day of sightseeing? The perfect refreshment in my books!
I had a truly memorable time in Singapore. There’s certainly never a dull moment! If you’re planning a family trip to Singapore I can highly recommend visiting Your Singapore, to get all the up to date information and tips to plan your perfect holiday.
Thanks for having me Singapore!
Love Pixie xx
