Getting crafty is one of my all-time favourite things to do. I am always on the hunt for new things to create and make in my free time. So yesterday when my friend Gemma surprised me with a CUT IT OUT! Design Studio, I was over the moon and couldn’t wait to try it out!

CUT IT OUT! is a new revolutionary marker that cuts and colours at the same time, which is absolutely perfect for kids who haven’t gotten their scissors license yet!

I made some funky new sunglasses which my brother Hunter also took a liking to – what can I say, the boy has good taste.

Make sure to try to CUT IT OUT! marker for yourself, you can find it at Woolworths, Big W and all good toy stores or even better, pop it on your list for Santa.

I’ve always fancied myself as a bit of a designer, so when the wonderful team at Mother & Baby magazine reached out and asked me to design my very own custom bib to support the Bibs4Bubs charity initiative, I jumped at the opportunity to share my creative flair and be a part of such a fantastic cause.

This year, Mother & Baby Magazine, as well as sponsors Rafferty’s Garden, have launched Bibs4Bubs, a charity initiative whereby $5 from the sale of each custom bib will be donated to Red Nose, a charity dedicated to saving the lives of babies and children during pregnancy, birth, infancy and childhood and supporting bereaved families.

There are a total of 4 bibs available in the range, designed by yours truly, as well as my friends The Wiggles, Natalie Bassingthwaighte and David & Candice Warner.

Make sure to collect all four bibs here and support this wonderful cause!

Adventures in Singapore – Part 2

Earlier in the year you may recall that I took my Mum and Grandma, aka Dors, on a family trip to Singapore. We absolutely loved it and best of all Singapore offers something for everyone in the family.

For my first Singapore round-up post, I shared my Mum’s top 5 picks from an grown-up’s perspective. This time I’m going to share my favourite places to visit and things to do in Singapore.

Singapore is such a colourful and exciting place, there is always something new to look at or taste or experience. Even though your parent’s may talk about how much they love Singapore, don’t be fooled, it’s not just for the adults – I guarantee you’ll have an AMAZING time as well!

Pixie’s Top 5 in Singapore

  1. Merlion

The Merlion statue was one of my favourite attractions in Singapore! Half lion, half fish this amazing water fountain is a must visit, especially for the great photo opportunities. Not only is the Merlion fun and exciting to look at, it’s location provides amazing views over Mariana Bay.

merlion     2. Henna Tatoo and Little India

A visit to Little India is a must! It’s full of bright colours, decorations, exotic market stalls, temples and mosques – the whole neighbourhood is an experience in itself! My favourite thing to do in Little India was to get a henna tattoo – the perfect temporary option for a glamorous hand decoration. I loved it!

3. Kampong Glam

It was inevitable that this neighbourhood ended up on my list of must visit places in Singapore, after all is has ‘glam’ in the title! Kampong Glam really is glamorous and is full of unique boutiques including hand-made perfume stores for a one-off scent to remember your holiday by. I loved looking at all the trinkets and delights to be found in Kampong Glam, and I’m pretty sure Mum did too!

4. Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden

If you’re looking for a green space to stretch your legs then this is it! It’s no secret I’ve inherited a green thumb from my Mum who loves a spot of gardening. So imagine my delight when I discovered Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden! This incredible garden has been designed especially for us little ones to explore, learn and even get our hands dirty with interactive displays. There is also a great range of jungle gyms and play equipment.

Jacob Ballas 2        5. Selfie Coffee at Haji Lane

I’m never one to shy away from the camera, so when looking for a great cool-down beverage in Singapore, Selfie Coffee was the place to go! After all, what could be more perfect that a drink with your selfie on it?! Selfie Coffee is an amazing café that prints your selfie on the spot and puts it on your coffee. I found this so much fun and got a real kick out of seeing my picture on my Chocolate Frappe. Best of all, who doesn’t want an ice cold drink after a long day of sightseeing? The perfect refreshment in my books!

I had a truly memorable time in Singapore. There’s certainly never a dull moment! If you’re planning a family trip to Singapore I can highly recommend visiting Your Singapore, to get all the up to date information and tips to plan your perfect holiday.

Thanks for having me Singapore!

Pixie’s Bows X Elevit

Yesterday Pixie’s Bows was delighted to support a wonderful event for a brand new Elevit multivitamin for new mums.

As a big sister, I can fully appreciate how tiring having a new baby in the house can be! So I understand why having a special vitamin to make sure mums are looking after themselves and their baby is very important!

To celebrate the launch of Elevit Breastfeeding, Elevit hosted a beautiful morning tea complete with gift bags for all the mums that attended. The gift bags contained lots of beautiful goodies for new mums and babies, including Pixie’s Bows.

Guests were asked to create a flat lay for a competition using their favourite gifts and Pixie’s Bows was a popular choice! Thank you so much to Elevit for choosing Pixie’s Bows and for everyone who used bows in their post – some truly stunning shots!

Elevit Breastfeeding is available now in pharmacies – be sure to let your Mum know!

Dreamy kid’s bedrooms with Pottery Barn Kids X Monique Lhuillier

I love a spot of decorating, especially in my bedroom! While you-know-who isn’t usually very receptive to my interior style ideas, I think I found a collection that we will both agree on!

Pottery Barn Kids is one of my favourite places to shop for cute homewares. I love it, love it , love it! They have recently announced an amazing collaboration with Monique Lhuillier created just for little girls which is due to launch this Friday 6th May and I couldn’t be more excited!

Monique is a very famous bridal and fashion designer who creates princess-eque wedding gowns and special occasion dresses. Her style is very pretty and girly, which is just my style, while also very chic so it will keep your Mum happy too!

The Pottery Barn Kids X Monique Lhuillier collaboration offers a selection of dreamy bed canopies and soft furnishings to create a magical bedroom that you will love. I especially love the Blush Petal Canopy, which is exactly the finishing touch to my bedroom I’ve been looking for.

Be sure to check out the collection in store and online to give your bedroom a makeover fit for a princess!

Kid’s Cooking Class @ The Woollahra Hotel!

Being school holidays, I’m always looking for exciting new things to try. And given the culinary history in my family, or lack there of, I always figure it’s a wise idea to learn how to cook at any chance I get!

Today I ventured off to The Woollahra Hotel to participate in their special kid’s cooking class, part of their school holiday program.

We didn’t waste a moment getting our hands dirty, there was a lot to cook! We made Moncur Madeleines, Woollahra Classic Pizza and Chocolate truffles. Under the expert guidance of Executive Chef Ben Varela our class learnt all the essentials we need for making delicious madeleines, tasty pizza and yummy truffles – what kid wouldn’t want to know how to cook these?!

The best part was we all got to be very hands-on, decorating our pizza and cakes just the way we like them. Loaded with toppings! The end results were scrumptious!

At the end of class, as well as getting take home our freshly made goodies, we were also presented with a certificate. Guess there is no chance I’ll be avoiding family cooking duties now!

European Summer – Holiday Dreaming

As the weather cools down here in Australia, it’s the perfect time to start dreaming of a European Summer – a great getaway to escape the winter blues!

One of the best finds I’ve seen yet is an amazing new offering from Portrait Firenze in Florence, Italy. The home of gelato! After all what summer holiday is complete without gelato?!

Portrait Firenze is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, so as my Mum always says, you know right away that this hotel is going to be something special. Located right in the heart of Florence, the hotel is in the perfect spot to take in all the sights and flavours of the city.

My favourite part about Portrait Firenze is the brand new offering just for kids – a hotel that speaks my language! Their new program is called Very Important Kids, and offers a range of experiences, tours and classes just for us little ones ensuring we not only have a great holiday (while the folks do boring things) but learn a thing or two as well.

Some of their options include special children’s art tours, science discovery and experiments based on some of Florence’s most famous residents (Florence was once home to Leonardo Da Vinci and Galileo) and a pizza making classes to make ‘the best pizza on earth’ – ah sign me up please!!

Best of all, the hotel is bound to impress your folks so you should have no trouble convincing them. If you’d like to find out more visit The Leading Hotels of the World

Doughnut Time BONDI BEACH!

It was free inflatables for all down at Bondi Beach on the weekend to celebrate the opening of Doughnut Time Bondi!

Whilst the mumager had me working on a Saturday (!) I was happy to help out – after all, what could be more fun than getting amongst giant inflatable doughnuts! Best of all, anyone that showed up at the Doughnut Time store on Saturday with their blow-up doughnut, enjoyed tasty doughnut of their choice for FREE.

It was a gorgeous sunny day and Bondi looked extra special with all of the bright doughnuts scattered along the beach and out in the water.

Be sure to pop in to Doughnut Time Bondi and indulge in a post-swim treat!

Online shopping fun!

You know how sometimes a long weekend is just a little too long? I mean, you have to spend all that extra time with family members who are normally at work all week? Well that was exactly the predicament Hunty and I found ourselves in over the Easter Break.

So we thought what better way to escape the ‘ol bag for a few hours than by nipping off under the guise of having an ‘afternoon nap’ whilst actually doing a spot of online shopping?!

In a short space of time we managed to purchase just about the whole store kids selection – giving you know who’s credit card a good workout in the process!

Our haul arrived yesterday. It was a total blast trying on all our new styles while Mum was at work! I made sure I did my big sister duties by ensuring Hunty’s shoes were the perfect fit. After all, it’s very important to get the right size for little feet.

All in all a very successful online shop!

My secret spot for great books!

If you’re looking for a great place to buy kid’s books, look no further than Australia Post. I know what you’re thinking, Australia Post for books?!

I made this little discovery recently when popping in to pay the family bills (it never ends I tell you!). I was delighted by the amazing range of great books, especially ones that are perfect for me and my little brother Hunter.

We all know reading lots of books is the best way to get ahead at school, so naturally I wanted to stock up on some fresh titles to ensure Hunter and I stay ahead of the game! Best of all, the Australia Post kid’s book selection is available in-store and online – making it super easy and convenient to pick up some top reads.

Over the weekend I had some new books delivered. Poor little Hunter seems to have inherited the role of family doorman collecting all the parcels, a big task with the amount of shopping you know who does! Luckily he was more than happy to oblige and we spent the afternoon enjoying our new favourites; Little Red Riding Hood, Peter Rabbit, Animal Songs Sing Along and Paw Patrol.

Be sure to visit your local Australia Post store or visit to shop online.

Adventures in Singapore – Part One

I recently took my Mum and my grandma, aka Dors, on holidays to Singapore. We’d heard it was a great spot for families, so thought what better way to try it out than with three generations on the one trip!?

As there is just SO much to see and do in Singapore, I’m going to write two blog posts about our amazing experience. After all, there’s only so much typing these little hands of mine can take at once 😉

For this post I’ve asked Mum for her top 5 favourite activities and places we visited from a grown-up perspective. We’ll save my ultra-fun tips from a kids perspective for the next instalment!

Roxy’s Singapore Top 5

  1. Singapore River Cruise

The Singapore River Cruise is the only way to take in all the sights of Singapore’s beautiful quays and marina. It’s great to be able to sit back and relax whilst cruising past all of the key landmarks and bridges while learning about Singapore’s history. Best of all, being in a boat is fantastic for the little ones, they’ll enjoy the excitement of cruising while you sit back and enjoy. A must for the whole family.

rivercruise       2. TWG Tea at Marina Bay Sands

Everyone knows the incredible Marina Bay Sands, it’s hard to miss! No trip to Singapore would be complete without paying this amazing complex a visit. After a long day shopping and sight-seeing we were all looking for a relaxing spot to take a break and refuel with some sweet treats (Pixie in particular!) TWG Tea Salon and Boutique at Marina Bay Sands was the perfect spot, complete with over 1000 tea blends to select from and a tempting array of pastries and cakes.

There is no time like going on holidays to treat yourself to a relaxing spa treatment. A trip to a day spa is something that Pixie and I both enjoy doing together so we made sure we saved some time indulge in a spa treatment. The ESPA at Sentosa was the perfect oasis away from the buzz of the city and the perfect spot to unwind after a long, hot day of sight seeing. I would certainly recommend ESPA as an excellent spa to really pamper yourself while you’re on holidays in Singapore.

4. Shopping on Orchard Road

They call Orchard Road a shopper’s paradise, and it’s not hard to see why! While there are literally shops everywhere in Singapore, from market stalls to high-end luxury boutiques, it’s hard to go past the air-conditioned comfort of the shopping centres on Orchard Road. They literally have every brand and designer you can imagine!

Shopping 3

5. Sentosa Island

Sentosa Island has everything you need for the perfect holiday; beaches, hotels, great shopping, theme parks, dining and more – it’s a holiday destination in itself. We loved exploring the island and without a doubt the Port of Lost Wonder was a highlight. It is a fantastic water themed playground for the little ones who will love splashing around and cooling off in the water play areas.

Sentosa Island 1

If you’re looking on planning a family holiday to Singapore, there’s no better place to plan your whole trip than the Visit Singapore site – it covers everywhere we visited and more! I hope you enjoyed my first Singapore round-up of all the must see places. More to come soon with my Top 5 Singapore experiences!

Holiday Pix – Acqualina Resort & Spa

There’s nothing like a bit of holiday dreaming to help you through the working week and it’s never to early to start planning a Northern Hemisphere summer right?! Heck it’s only a matter of time before the Mumager has me on family holiday booking duties, so it’s good to keep an eye out for great family holiday destinations!

The Leading Hotels of the World are always my go-to for incredible hotels all around the world. Whether you’re looking for an action packed adventure or relaxing sea-side break, they have it all. Best of all if it’s a LHW hotel, you know it’s going to offer nothing but the best.

My latest find is the Acqualina Resort & Spa, located at Sunny Isles Beach Florida with absolute beach frontage (my kind of hotel). There are also three pools so if you’re a keen swimmer like me, swimming can certainly be ticked of your list! The Acqualina offers special children’s programs such as Kids in the Kitchen which is one of my favourite holiday activities (best for when you need a break from the parents) as well Acquamarine Children’s program featuring a range of aqua inspired activities – you might even be lucky enough to spot a baby sea turtle!

The Acqualina Resort & Spa was voted one of the USA’s best Family Resorts, so it’s definitely one to check out! Be sure to visit Acqualina Resort & Spa via LHW to find out more.

New Pixie’s Bows have landed and I couldn’t be more excited with the new colours and styles! I love to be very hands on when it comes to creating bows for my range and I am very happy with the most recent collection which features a new small size in gorgeous pastel shades.

  • 150g chicken breast fillet, diced
  • 50g tinned sweetcorn
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • A little salt
  • 1 ½ tsp sunflower oil

  • 2 tsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp ketchup
  • 2 tsp soy sauce

Box for Monkeys

I’m always on the look out for new and creative ways to keep Hunter and myself entertained on days we spend at home. Especially something to keep the parents happy as it’s not just fun but educational too!

Well I think I found the perfect solution – Box for Monkeys.

Box for Monkeys is a monthly subscription service that deliver fun-filled activity boxes to your door once a month (you can buy individual boxes as a one-off as well). Each box is created around a theme and is designed for boys and girls aged between 3-7. Mind you, Hunty isn’t quite 2 and he had a blast with his!

The boxes have books and activities to create, play, make, read, explore, cook + try and music. There’s enough to keep you going for hours!! I think they would also be handy for holidays, especially on a rainy day.

While these are tonnes of fun, your Mum and Dad will be happy to know they’ve been put together by educators and creative parents that specialise in making great products for kids. Best of all your Mum and Dad don’t have to be crafty or creative themselves to help you out – thank goodness for that I say!

Be sure to check them out via their website!
