Nutella Day

Today being World Nutella Day, it was only fair that take the little brother to Doughnut Time to sample their amazing Nutella Doughnuts! I mean really, is there any better way to enjoy Nutella?

World Nutella Day is celebrated internationally on February 5th and in honour of this amazing chocolatey delight, Doughnut Time gave away FREE Nutella Doughnuts at their Central Park store in Sydney between 4-5pm.

Doughnut Time is always busy (and for a good reason!) and today was no exception. Everyone was keen to get their hands on the famous Nutella Doughnuts! Needless to say Hunty and I thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon treat 🙂

Celebrate Chinese New Year with Pixie’s Bows

There is nothing I love more than a celebration – especially when there is the opportunity to dress up! With Chinese New Year just a few weeks away I thought it would be only fitting to release a special, celebratory Pixie’s Bows offering.

Red, yellow and green are considered lucky colours in China, and are the colours used to celebrate Chinese New Year. I’ve pulled together 3 Pixie’s Bows packs featuring these colours – perfect for pairing with a traditional Chinese silk dress like I’ve done below!

Make sure you shop my Chinese New Year bow packs in time for the celebrations here.

Dinner Made Easy!

They say that fish is the ultimate brain food – so with just a few more weeks before the new year of pre-school kicks off, I figured it couldn’t hurt to get a bit more in my diet!
Once again, Annabel Karmel has come to the rescue with  delicious and nutritious fish pies that tick all the boxes.
Best of all there are two equally tasty ways to try it. If you’re in the mood to whip out your apron and impress the family with your culinary skills you can cook Annabel’s Family Fish Pie OR for those busy days when you can’t cook but don’t want to skimp on flavour and all the health benefits, keep a pack or 2 of Annabel’ s ‘Mummy’s Favourite Fish Pie’ in the freezer.
Annabel Karmel’s special children’s ready meals are inspired by her famous recipes (so you know they are going to be yummy!) and are snap-frozen to keep in all the goodness. Super handy to have a few in the freezer that’s for sure! Find all your favourites in the freezer aisle at Coles Supermarkets

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 200ºC
  2. Boil the potatoes in salted water.

Delicious Zucchini Spaghetti

There’s no time like the New Year to kick off some healthy new habits and this year I’m all about adding new recipes to my repertoire!

It’s no secret my Mum is less than stellar in the kitchen. All I can say is thank goodness for Annabel Karmel! Not only does she create scrumptious ready-to-go meals, she also has the best recipes for kids that are fast, fresh and tasty.

I’ve heard a lot about zucchini spaghetti lately, all the cool kids are making it.  Naturally, I thought I’d better get in on the action! The perfect substitute for pasta, zucchini spaghetti is very tasty and a sneaky way to add more greens to your plate.

I’m sure you will love this zucchini spaghetti dish as much as I did!

Spiralized Zucchini Spaghetti with Fresh Tomato Sauce

  • 4 large courgette / zucchini
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • A knob of butter

Tomato Sauce

  • 750g fresh ripe plum tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tbsp basil, chopped
  • 1 tsp red wine vinegar

  1. Put the zucchini through the spiralizer to get long spaghetti style shapes.
  2. To make the sauce, heat a saucepan of water until boiling. Add the tomatoes and simmer for 2 minutes then refresh in cold water. Peel off the skin then chop each one into 4 pieces.
  3. Heat a frying pan until hot. Add the oil then onion and fry until soft. Add the garlic and fry for 30 seconds.
  4. Add the tomatoes and basil and heat until the tomatoes have broken down – this will take about 15 minutes. When the sauce is reduced and thick add the vinegar and seasoning.
  5. Heat a large wok or frying pan until hot. Add the oil, butter and garlic. Fry for a few seconds then add the zucchini. Toss over the heat for 3 – 4 minutes until just tender. Drain of any excess liquid.
  6. Season and spoon into a serving bowl. Spoon the sauce on top.

Family Dining Italian Style at Criniti’s

With the school holidays now upon us, it’s essential to find some great dining spots that are perfect for the whole family. When the opportunity to go out for lunch presented itself I was quick to suggest my favourite Italian restaurant, Criniti’s. After all, I wouldn’t be doing my job if I wasn’t sampling my restaurant suggestions!

Criniti’s offers a huge menu full of all the authentic Italian classics including pizza and pasta (my personal favourite) with lots options for the whole family. I opted for a delicious spaghetti and meatballs – which as you can see from the evidence on my face, I thoroughly enjoyed.

To round out the experience I finished with an incredible dessert, complete with sparkler! Then, after a quick sip of water I was ready for my oversized milkshake. Needless to say, I was in heaven with all the tempting sweet treats.

Criniti’s really is the perfect spot for a family meal, with generous servings of delightful food and amazing service. Definitely one to add to your holiday to-do list!

Disguise and Surprise this Christmas!

With Christmas less than two weeks away, it was high time I make a start on my Christmas wrapping. One of the trickiest parts about wrapping presents is making sure they’re well disguised so that the present snoops (no need to mention who in my household!) can’t guess what their presents are before the big day.

This year I’m one step ahead with Australia Post’s Disguise Packaging, the perfect way to conceal presents and make wrapping awkward shapes easy. I stocked up on all their different shaped boxes, my favourite being the pyramid! With such a lot of wrapping to do I had to call in some assistance from Hunter and even my Dad joined in. Obviously you know who was ‘busy’ while we managed to get all our Christmas shopping wrapped and sorted!

Australia Post are running an amazing Christmas competition where you can win Load&Go pre-paid Visa cards (perfect for doing a spot of shopping for yourself in the post-Christmas sales!) just by sharing your cleverly disguised, wrapped Christmas presents using the Disguise packaging. Make sure you visit the Disguise & Surprise website for all the details.

Happy wrapping!

Festive Season Pixie’s Bows

With Christmas fast approaching, I decided to create a special Festive Season Pixie’s Bows Collection. Naturally, I felt an accompanying photoshoot was necessary – I mean any chance to get dressed up and have my hair done!

I even managed to get Pixie’s Bow’s CFO (aka my brother Hunter) in on the action, talk about dedication to the job. We had such a fun morning and I’m so happy with the end results. You can see some of the final shots below along with an exclusive Behind the Scenes video.

I’m so thrilled with the limited edition Pixie’s Bows Festive Collection – I hope you love it as much as I do.  Christmas is just 16 sleeps away !!! So be sure to get your orders in soon.

Lots of love,

Pixie xx

Enchanted Forest with Lush

Yesterday I hosted ‘Pixie’s Enchanted Forest’ in conjunction with LUSH at The Royal Hotel in Paddington to showcase their Lush Fresh, Handmade Parties.
LUSH are famous for their deliciously scented, fresh, handmade cosmetics – my favourite being their huge range of Bath Bombs and Bubble Bars! So when LUSH asked me to invite my friends along for a morning of making bath bombs and soaps how could I resist?!
The Royal Hotel was transformed into an Enchanted Forest complete with trees, flowers and grass. There were several stations set up around the Enchanted Forest (even one for the Mums to keep them busy) where we could get hands-on with LUSH products and even try our hand at making our own.
As you can tell from the photos, we all had the best fun getting our hands dirty, or should I say extra clean! Even my little brother Hunter got in on the action. My approach to making bath bombs was bigger is better – with lots of colour for maximum effect. What a fantastic morning, thank you to all my friends for coming along!
Lush host parties and in-store events where you too can try your hand at making your own cosmetics and bath products, complete with fun games, quizzes and beautiful products to take home. Be sure to check their website here to get all the details.

This week, there were so many beautiful shoes to chose from, I actually have 4 favourites! Each has a pretty print which is the perfect way to add a splash of colour to your summer ensembles.

Below I am wearing the very stylish Wink – which is the ultimate wedge. I love dressing up for a special occasion and these wedges are fun but also really comfortable!

Pixie’s Bows Fashionable Friends – Ella May, Dublin Ireland

It’s time for another Fashionable Friend profile! I get so excited hearing all about Pixie’s Bows fans in different countries, and my next new friend is a real little trendsetter all the way from Ireland.

Ella May is 5 and a half and lives in Dublin. Ella May told me that Ireland is such a tiny country you can hardly see it on the map! Ella May is an only child but she asks her mummy all the time to have a baby sister, as she would love to help feed her.

Ella May has had her Instagram for 2 years, where she loves to share her amazing ensembles with the help of her Mum. Her favourite outfit is her pink tutu, but often it’s too cold in Ireland to wear it. Ella May’s favourite Pixie’s Bow is the Medium bow in Cotton Candy Polka Dot – I love love love the way she paired this bow with those amazing pink boots!

Ella May’s favourite activities include riding her new bike which she got for her birthday, dressing up (and trying to wear her Mum’s high heels – something I love to do as well when Mumager isn’t watching!). Ella May also LOVES painting and drawing pictures. At school her favourite subjects include arts & crafts as well as learning her native language, Irish!

Ella May told me ‘Is breá liom tu Pixie’ which means ‘I love you Pixie’ in Irish – how special is that!? Thank you so much for taking part of my Fashionable Friends Ella May!

Lots of love,

Pixie x

Young at Heart

There’s nothing like a beautifully fragranced candle to make any room feel more homely and tranquil. I find it’s a great way to relax after a long day packing Pixie’s Bows orders! It’s even better when you know your candle purchase is going towards a great cause.

MOR Candles are releasing a limited edition candle called Young at Heart to support children’s charity TLC for Kids. The unique fragrance has been created to make you feel happy, warm and bright and comes packaged in a gorgeous, custom designed box.

TLC provide support to sick kids and their families while they’re in hospital. My favourite initiative is their ‘Distraction Box’ which is filled with fun toys and games to help take kid’s mind of their sometimes scary medical treatments. What a lovely idea!

The limited edition Young at Heart candles are available during October, with $5 from each candle purchase going to TLC to help sick children all around Australia. You can find out more and purchase via

After a long day looking after my dolly, The Young at Heart candle was just what I needed to unwind!

Just prior to my Fijian adventure, I spent a week in Tokyo, Japan working on some exciting developments for Pixies Bows! However, with the whirlwind schedule she’s had me working to recently, you’d be forgiven for wondering how do I do it!?

Well it really all comes down to ensuring you try and get some shut eye on the plane (although I can assure you that is near impossible!) as well as staying somewhere that makes you feel as though it is your home away from home. That’s why I love The Leading Hotels of the World. Their hotels are not only guaranteed to give you a one off experience, their service ensures everything always runs smoothly – which is important when you’re as busy as I am!

While in Tokyo we stayed at The Palace Hotel. You can check them out here. From the photos below, you can see I had the most fabulous stay. Tokyo and The Palace Hotel get a big tick of approval from me!

Telling Mum to get a move on unless she wants to miss the flight!

My kind of welcome! Sweet treats galore upon check-in at The Palace Hotel.

The Palace Hotel was the perfect place to kick back and talk business – I felt right at home!

Shhhh! Time for some shut eye – in matching PJ’s no less.

With the amount of walking she had me doing, I needed all the energy I could get! Delicious treats at Palace Hotel.

My attempt at ‘the lip’s after a long day…

Nothing I love more than a quick dip in the hotel pool!

I was most impressed by Tokyo’s shopping – can’t understand why she wouldn’t let me take home the life size Snoopy though?

My adventures on Laucala Island

I’ve done a few Wanderlust Wednesday posts on my blog before, sharing some of my top holiday spots for families all over the world. This time, I was lucky enough to go and visit so I can now write all about it from firsthand experience!

Just last week I went to visit one of the very best resorts in the world with The Leading Hotels of the World – Laucala Island in Fiji.

Without doubt this was one of the most amazing adventures of my life! Laucala is so beautiful and relaxing even the Mumager slipped into holiday mode, and we all know how rare that is!

Never fear though, she was up to her usual antics with the camera phone in my face at every chance she had, the results of which are below for your viewing pleasure.

We arrived at Laucala Island via private jet and were immediately greeted by the lovely staff. They even sung us a traditional welcome song!

I was so excited with my new home for the four days we were on the island, I was literally jumping for joy.

Did I mention the views!?

Lunching Laucala  style – by the sea.

We were also given a tour of the island’s farm which is where they grow almost all of the produce used in their restaurants.

On our final night we were treated to a traditional Fijian dinner and show – needless to say I loved the music and dancing!

There is really no other place like Laucala Island – I hope to go back again very soon! You can find out more about this magical place via The Leading Hotels of the World here
